Happy 4th!

I can't believe how this month has flown by. I know that it is way past, but I had to post at least one pic of the 4th. We really had a low key 4th. We went to my parents for a BBQ and fireworks in the park. A fun tradition!

Owlz game

We had a city night out at the owlz baseball game. Since Luke's team were the Owlz this year they were picked to run out on the field with the real Owlz players. It was so cute to watch him run out with the player and take his hat off for the National Anthem. Then Kate and her friend Riley were picked to play a "bowling" game for a free bowling prize. She was so cute and excited.

Way to go Luke and Kate!

fish lake 2009

Once again we had our annual fish lake camping trip! It was really cold this year. It was fine during the day, but the nights were freezing.

We shared a motor home with Brent's parents--a little on the crowded side, but still a lot of fun. It rained the first day (Saturday) we were there, so just the boys went 4wheeling and shooting guns (yikes) and the girls stayed back and played games.

On Sunday we went to church in the lodge and afterwards went to Fruita. We had a picnic lunch there and played games. It was a nice break from the dirt and freezing cold. Everyone was able to wade in the water and splash around.

Monday we went for a ride on a pontoon boat and each kid was able to catch a little perch. I think that made the whole trip for them. Brent was able to catch a "real" fish (a Splake???) and he felt some redemption from all of the years that we have never caught fish. To end the day we had a fish fry with the cousins and we headed out. I am very proud of myself on this trip. I totally stepped out of my comfort zone and went on the boat and ate some fish (OK I was starving and they make great fish)--so there you go! Another successful fish lake trip. Even though we might complain about going--we are grateful for a fun family tradition and the kids just absolutely love it!

tumble time

To keep Kate busy this summer I put her in gymnastics at the Rec Center. She has absolutely loved it! She has a smile on her face the entire time. I think we have a cheerleader in the making--loud voice--check, loves gymnastics--check, outgoing--check!

so much to post and the little league owlz!

wow--this is why I need to keep up on my posting! We have had a lot of fun--so here goes!

So Luke's little league baseball team made it to the championship game! I am not a competitive person and really don't care if they win or lose--just as long as they are having fun. But we had played against this coach before, and he was a piece of work. So only because of him did I want to win--I had friends on the other team and was happy for the them to win, but did not want the coach to have the victory--rude I know! So we were down by 2 and had last bats--sad to say, but we had three up and three down just like that. But what a great accomplishment--they place 2nd in their league. I am so proud of their little team--they played very well together. Way to go Luke and the Owlz!!

new family pics

My whole family is in town this week so we took the oppurtunity to take family pics since it will probably be 2 years until we are together again. My SIL Amy was very kind to take some time out and take the pics so we wouldn't have to run with the timer on. Then my brother dave did the photoshop work. I love how they turned out!
