Security Blanket

We have all had one or maybe we still do. I had one (security blanket) until I was 14. It was orange and my mom made it for me. Luke is on blanket number 2. He loved the first one to shreds and we put it up for safe keeping, but the only way he would agree to that was if grandma made another one for him. This green blanket goes everywhere with him. He hides in it as if the world around him has disappered. The reason I bring this all up is tonight we had family home evening and he said the cutest thing. Our lesson was on staying safe. One of the topics was if the house was on fire where to meet so we knew everyone was safe. Well the poor imaginations of the kids went wild. Austin was so concerned about his Webkins--so Brent said, don't worry about those, don't worry about your pillows or your blankies--just worry about yourself getting out. Luke got very quiet. I finally asked him what was wrong and he just burst into tears--I don't want my blankie to burn!!!

Spring Fever

Ok I need to stop going to warm places, because when I come back it is yucky weather here. I am so ready for warm weather, not hot, but warm. These are just a few pictures from the park in St. George. Kids had a ball with the kites! Green grass and blue sunny sky's, what more could you ask for?

Happy Easter!!!

This year for Easter we went to St. George. We have a tradition of an egg hunt at my parent's, but they were out of town this year. (Hopefully we will have one later at their house) But we still had a great time this year. Brent's grandma has a really cute backyard with a little stream going through it. The kids had a wonderful time. We had a nice lunch and just relaxed in her backyard!

Have you ever tried cat food?

I just got back from a trip to California!!! It was such a fun break. My brother in law had two tickets on Jet Blue and he flew me and my mother in law Sue down to spend time with his wife Insun for her birthday. It was so nice of them to let me come down. I was really wanting a break from all the cold weather here. We went to the park the first morning we were there. We met some of Insun's friends from her ward. They were so nice. I loved just sitting in the sun. Zach loved the grass. I don't know that he has really ever seen the grass because he was so little last summer, so he just loved crawling around and eating the dirt. Later that day we went to the beach. Zach hated the sand and water. At one point he got so freaked out from the sand he scurried to my diaper bag and sat on top of it. The next day was Insun's birthday, so we had lunch at Cheesecake factory and then went shopping at Fashion Island Mall. We were so wiped out from that day. You know how you get so slap happy when you are exhausted--we were driving back to Insun's house and Sue says to Insun "Have you ever tried cat food?" Insun just looked at her like What?????? I lost it I just started crying. She had meant to say "cat fish". Oh Sue--you keep me entertained. Anyway the last day we went to the swap meet and Balboa Island for lunch and shopping. What a great girl trip!! Thanks to Brent, my friends and my parents for watching the kids. Thanks Sue, Nate and Insun for letting me come!

Fashion Icon???

Well I really think I have this blog bug. I want to post something everyday. I know, I need to get out more. Any way just an update on Kate's arm. She has two more weeks left. (I hope) That will make a total of 6 weeks (I think) It is rather hard to get her dressed in long sleeves, but now we have a routine, broken arm in, head in, fixed arm in. I think she will get it off before Easter which is great. We won't have the Barbie Pink (fluorescent) cast on in all of the cute Easter pics. This picture of Kate and her cousin Sadie sums up Kate's fashion sense. She loves anything girly thus if one tutu is not enough wear the other one as a shirt. So I really do not foresee her as a fashion icon, or maybe she will be, because she is so creative with her attire!!

Our little monkey is turning one!!

Last night we had Zach's 1st Birthday party! I can't believe my baby is one. He actually turned one on the same day that Austin was baptized, but I did not want to take away from anyone's special day, so we had Zach's party on Monday. It was fun. We had a monkey theme--I always tell Zach he is a little monkey because he loves to go up the stairs and he knows that he is not supposed to because he just giggles when he sees me. He is the best baby--very content and very happy. I just want him to freeze and never grow up!

So Proud!

This past saturday was such a special day for our family. Austin was baptized! We are so proud of him for making the decision to be baptized. He is such a special boy. When I asked him why he wanted to be baptized he said because he wanted to be a member of the Church and to follow the commandments. We had a fun dinner afterwards at our house. My brother Mike and Brent's sister Jill both flew out just for this special day. We are so lucky to have such wonderful family support.
