Good Things Utah

Well a couple of weeks ago I was watching Good Things Utah and Alicia (Chic on a Shoestring-fashion expert) did a call out for viewers to come on the show to "model" jeans. She said she needed sizes 8,10,12 and 14. Hey I am one of those I thought to myself--unfortunately on the higher end of that scale. So I really don't know what got into me, but I emailed her---

Dear Alicia
My name is Stacey XXXXX. I live in XXXX, I am 35 and a mother of 4 (ages 9 to 2). I saw your call out for Jeans 101 yesterday on Good Things Utah and I would love your help. I am a size 14 and have a horrible time finding jeans that fit. Everyone tells me I buy my jeans too big (probably because by the end of the day I am tugging at them to keep them up) but I also don't want to look like a stuffed sausage either. I feel like at this size I can't be stylish, just frumpy. I would love your help to find something that fits right with style! Hope you can help me!!
Thanks so much

I don't know why she picked me out of all the emails, but she did! It was so fun. I tried on about 6 pairs of jeans--she found the ones she liked the best on me which was 1 to 2 sizes smaller then I buy--so I guess I buy my jeans to big after all. She then picked out a shirt jacket shoes and earrings. I went the next day to tape the show since Alicia would be gone the day the segment was supposed to air. I had a great time. All of the girls she picked to "model" were so nice and of course the girls on the show were nice to. It was so out of my comfort zone, but I am so glad I did it.

Zach and Mommy time

Since the kids are all in school I thought I would take this time to spend some special time with Zach--other then going to Walmart--his favorite place to go. So I took him to the petting zoo at Thanksgiving point. Before we left the house he kept telling me--animals not scary, animals not scary. He was a little nervous with all of the horse and cow sounds, but I know he really loved it too. He kept talking to all of the animals--hello, goodbye. So cute. It was fun to spend special time with him.

K is for Kindergarten

Well we are all officially back in school! Yay!!! The afternoons are so nice and quiet--everyone gone and Zach takes a nap until pick up time!

Kate did awesome on the first day and is still doing well (although she does tell me every once in awhile that it is kind of long--wait till 1st grade).

We went in and she found her bag hook by herself and

then we both found her seat

and all of the sudden the tears started to well up--not in Kate's eyes, but in mine. I thought for sure I wasn't going to cry because I was excited that she was going to school. I think that I just can't believe how fast all of my kids are growing up. I hurried out before she (and anyone else) could see me. My cute friend caught me though and she brought me yummy chocolate later that day--Chocolate cures everything! I am so proud of how great my kids are doing--they are great!
