What has been keeping us busy?

I feel like I really haven't blogged in forever. Between "computer" problems and Halloween coming tomorrow--I feel that I have been neglecting my blogging duties! Anyway--we had our friend Corey R. come for a visit. My dad and his dad met in college and our families have been friends ever since. Brent and I lived in the same complex as he and his wife Amy when we were first married and became great friends! My kids had a ball with him here. All I heard from them was Corey, Corey, Corey. It was fun to have him here and as usual it made us sad that we don't live closer.

Halloween is not complete for us if we don't have some cupcake decorating. Grandma came and helped the kids make and decorate cupcakes. They had fun, even though by the end the only helper left was Kate!

Once again I made another banner! I made 2 (sorry Bri, I am still working on yours!) One for me and one for a friend that has had Kate over so much lately I think Kate is ready to move there! Be watching for my one year blogiversay! I hope someone will want to enter to win something!

Leaf Hunt

During our fall break I tried to keep the kids busy with free things to do. We have a cute book called "We're going on a leaf hunt"--so we read that and then went to a park to collect leaves. Well I was about a week and half off from the leaves changing. The trees now are beautiful! But all was not lost. Out leaf hunt turned into a bunny hunt. Luke spotted one in the bushes and the hunt was on for a good picture of the bunny. I didn't realize until I was trying to leave why Luke was so into finding the bunny. He wanted to pet it. I don't believe wild rabbits would want to be petted!

I am still here!

Not that I have very many fans out there, but for those of you wonderful people who do read--I am sorry I have not posted in awhile. We think our computer may have spyware on it or some virus, so Brent has banned me from the computer for 2 weeks to fix it. Well I can wait no longer (still not technically fixed) and will continue to use the computer anyway. I will probably be mad at myself later for doing so--So this week I have a few things to post so thanks for staying with me. And I think my one year anniversary is coming up and like all the blogs I read, I will do a give away, so stay tuned! I think it will be a fun item!

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom's birthday was this month. She is such a great mother. She will do anything for me. I appreciate all of her support. I just hope I can be a daughter that she deserves. Happy Birthday MOM!

(I made the photo album in the picture. I just bought an inexpensive photoalbum from walmart-with acid free inserts--she can just put all of her halloween pics of when her kids were younger and then set it out in October to look back on the years past. that way she doesn't have to worry about really scrapbooking)

playing on turf

Austin got to play a football game on turf yesterday. They cut 20 yards off of the field, but it was wider then they were used to. They did very well. They played against Saratoga Springs--final score 13 to 6 for the knights! Once again to crazy Utah weather Luke's soccer game was canceled.

b is for birthday

Wow we go to a lot of birthdays! (i guess they just have a lot of friends--which is great) Anyway the little boys name is Brock so I did a B is for... I know he loves BYU so I made a BYU pillowcase. It was easy, inexpensive and fun to make!

spooky movie night

I love the fall, love halloween. So to get into the spirit of things, I thought it would be fun to have a fun dinner night with the kids and watch a halloween movie. We made "Mummy" hot dogs and piled up on the couch to watch "Casper". (not the cartoon one) I think the kids had a great time--Zach sat through the whole movie!

witchy witch

Kate gets a turn at bringing Little bear home from pre-school. So I thought, I better do something with it so we could write something in his journal--just trying to be a fun mom! Ha Ha! It was fun. We invited our friends, Heather and Brielle to join us. And we had a light lunch before coming home! Fun time had by all!

you say its your birthday na na na its my birthday too

(two of my friends had already left when I realized I needed a picture)
Yes it was my birthday on the 6th. I had a rocky "Why me" kind of morning (self induced I am sure). So I made sure I went for my walk--try to release those feelings. It helped that my parents were so cute and both got on the phone and sang me happy birthday. My cute wonderful friends all got together and had a lunch for me. That really helped my mood. My friend Ardice opened her home to us and they all went in together on a fun fun gift--stuff I love, but would feel to guilty to buy for my self! (love that Dear Lizzie) My family had a nice dinner the day before for me with gifts and a homemade cake by Amy

Thanks everyone--I know I am blessed with so many wonderful friends and with a wonderful family. What a lucky girl I am!!!!

wipe out

VS.

final score: LP 36 JD 0

All I can really remember about this game was the freezing wind, pelting rain, and soggy mud. It was a cold one, but I did not hear one kid on the team complain.

Luke's game was canceled of course--I guess that is a fair weather game--fine by me!

another flag banner

I wanted some more color in Kate's room so when I saw this picture, it inspired me to add some things to her room. Her room is still a work in progress, but the banner added some needed color! Hopefully I can get the picture sometime, I think it would be cute in there as well.

P is for Present

like I have said before, I don't know why I have a hard time buying toys for birthday parties. Probably because my kids have so many, I hate to do that to anyone else. (don't get me wrong, we really appreciate the ones that have been given to us (insert my smile here) No really I like to be creative, and I think it is a fun time to be creative. Any way--don't know where that was going! So I came up with a boy (could be a girl one too) present. Kate's friend's name is Porter. So I made him a tshirt with a camo P on it. Then the rest of the present had things that started with P. the card said P is for and then the back had a list popcorn, paper, pencil, peanut (cookies) play-do, pop and Porter. I think it turned out cute.

Boo!

I was reading one of my favorite sites--Skip to my Lou and found this darling idea for a neighborhood Boo. This is the picture of mine, but click here and you can find all of the instructions. Hopefully none of my neighbors read this--then they will know I was the one that started it!

want a kiss?

Zach couldn't find his binky and I came down stairs and found Kate's whistle lips in his mouth instead. Just thought it looked funny!

Simple Chicken Pot Pie

Ok this pot pie was yummy yummy and easy easy. A great dinner for the cold weather that I know is just around the corner. I got the recipe and idea from my SIL. Click here and you can grab the recipe!
