oh the excitement and heartbreak

Well once again the boys had games at the same time. Luke's team I think lost by 1 point, but they played awesome. Luke got his first goal for the season--way to go Luke!

VS.

the other knights--there are three

Well they had their first loss of the season. 7 to 0 I wasn't there, but I believe we fumbled the ball and their defense took it down for a touch down. We will get them next time. Go Knights!

birthday parties galore

Kate was invited to 2 birthday parties this saturday. Any girl time she can get, she is there! I love for my kids to go to parties and I love to have parties, but I can never figure out what to get for the birthday child. So since I am into sewing lately, I have been putting that to good use, at least with the girl parties. I made both girls this apron with fabric that I have had forever, and then I found child sized rubber spatulas at the dollar store! (sorry no pic of those) So out of my immediate pocket these cost me $1 each. Am I so cheap? Anyway--for my birthday coming up, my mom got me a ruffler foot for my sewing machine!!! That made it possible to do the cute ruffle at the bottom! I am so excited. What will I do next with my ruffler??? Thanks Mom!

Cougars

Austin's team had the oppurtunity to meet the BYU Football team! They had a lot of fun. I think Brent enjoyed himself just as much as the rest of the 8 year olds! Ha Ha!

soft side of grandpa

My dad is finding his soft side (brave side) and has been taking the two younger ones out to have fun, while giving me a couple of hours of quiet. They have had a great time and I have as well. He took them to the zoo this week. They rode the train, merry-go-round and saw all of the animals. Afterward he took them to get Mac and Cheese--their favorite! My dad said on the way back Kate said out of the blue "Thanks grandpa for taking us to the zoo". I think it is great for my kids to have some one on one with my dad to create these memories! Thanks Dad!

nail biter

VS.

Final score Lone Peak 14 Lindon Vikings 13

Wow this was a nail biter. Vikings up by a touchdown with 2 minutes left in the game. Brent was up to call offese plays and we scored at the last seconds of the game! I haven't seen Brent that excited for a long long time--if ever! I had tears in my eyes even--good thing I had glasses on--I thought oh my word why in the world am I crying? I guess I always cry when I am proud of my kids.

Luke's soccer team is still not faring that well. He won last weeks game, but a no go for this week. I think some of the kids on his team have never played before, but it is good for Luke--he really got overshadowed last year, but this year he can shine--he is sooooooo much faster then the other kids on the field. Maybe I should get him in track and field :)-ha ha

silver spoon baby

(photo taken from peekaboophotos.blogspot)
I really hate to say a whole lot about myself and things that "I" do, but I was really excited when Kate Moss took my bibs up to swiss days with her. I think they looked really cute in her booth. I made 19 bibs and 11 sold. I was pretty proud of myself that any sold!

Mrs. Field's Cookies

I love blogging and it has really inspired me to have more fun with my kids, instead of me always doing all the work. So yesterday we made our favorite cookie recipe. I make them every couple of weeks, but yesterday I had Kate and Luke do the majority of the work, and they did a great job! I am going to try different things with them more often!

Mrs. Field's Cookies--Makes about 6 dozen cookies (I usually half this)
1 lb. Margarine
2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups sugar
Cream together then add
3 large eggs
Mix then add
6 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups milk chocolate chips
2 cups butterscotch chips
bake 350 degrees for 14 minutes

dirty little secret

hi my name is Kate. I am 4 and have a binky. It drives my mom and dad crazy that I have one. I am so addicted to it though and its so tempting when my little brother has one in his mouth. but today I am getting rid of it for good. please pass on some support to my mom to keep her strong to not give it back to me. Its for my own good. (well that's what everyone else thinks except for me, Kate!)

oh--the fourth child

look at that beauty!

Brent had the opportunity to take some people up to Oregon for a work trip. He really had a great time. But the highlight of the trip was this fish he caught. 30+ lbs., it was the biggest of the group. I didn't know I was married to such a fisherman!

where do i begin???

In between reading my twilight books, we did have some family events that I need to mention!! Before school started Brent took us with him to a work event up at Strawberry Reservoir. We stayed at Daniels Summit. It was so cute. It was a lot of fun to have a little night away with the family.

The next week school started. I can't believe I have 2 that go to school all day. The boys really adjusted very well to the new school. It helps that they have made a lot of friends in our new ward/neighborhood. I think I am the one who had more of an adjustment.

Finally, Austin has had two football games and they have won both!! He practices tuesday through thursday for two hours each day. All of his hard work is paying off. Way to go Austin!

Zach just thinks he is one of the big kids. He is obsessed with balls, especially footballs--Hut Hut is what he says!
