Preschool Program

I can't believe that the school year is over. Kate's Preschool had an end of the year program. They went through all of the nursery rhymes they learned this year and then they sing their alphabet with sign song. It is a great way for Kate to learn her ABC's. It's funny, she can tell you all the sounds when she sees the letter, but she can't always tell you the name of the letter. I think I have a lot of work to do this summer. So each child dresses up as a nursery rhyme character and Kate was the queen of hearts. A perfect fit for her!

My Cute Luke

I can't believe Luke is almost done with Kindergarten. I always feel like my kids aren't quit in the real world yet when they are in the Kindergarten fence. Next year, no more fence, he will have to be out in the back with all the big kids. Thank goodness he has a big brother to watch out for him. The picture is of his best friend he met this year named Sam. Ok I will admit it--my eyes welled up with tears on the first song.

Mothers Day

We had a nice mother's day. I know that I probably won't have a "do nothing" kind of mother's day until my kids are a little more grown up and even then I will probably have to "tell" everyone that I am taking the day off fend for your self!! Ha! Anyway, the kids gave me great hand made gifts. Luke was so cute. He got up really early and went into the kitchen all by himself and made 4 pieces of toast and took the crust off and buttered them. He then put them on a plate that he made for me in kindergarten. It was darling. I will have to take a pic of the plate later. We went up to my parent's house and we all brought something for dinner. I made crown's for the "moms" (inspired by my friend Amy who made some for friend's birthday). I took a picture from my mother in laws with out her knowing so I put that on the table with one of my mom's when I was a baby. It was fun. Also my sister in law made the cutest dish gloves with ruffle for all of us for mothers day. So cute! It's fun having a creative sister in law.

I don't know but I've been told, Bear Hollow is the place to go! (Kate's school song)

Luke and Kate have both attended the cutest preschool, Bear Hollow Preschool. (there is already a waiting list for Zach's age group, crazy) Their teacher, Miss Molly, is so creative and cute with the kids. Kate has many field trips, but I was able to attend the last one she had. They went to Nursery Rhyme Land. They played games like Jack Jump Over the Candle stick with cones, rubadub dub three men in a tub with 3 kids in a hula hoop and baa baa black sheep sack races. Kate just giggled the entire time. I should of taken some video just to hear her contagious giggle!

California Dreamin!!

We're Baaaack!!! We had a great 7 day vacation with our family. We drove down and stayed in St. George for a night and then left the next day for California. It was a very easy drive. Zach is the best baby to travel with. He didn't make a peep! We got to California in the afternoon and pretty much went straight to the beach so the kids could see the ocean. The next day we went to California Adventure. The kids had a great time. We were definatly exhausted when the day was over!

The next day was busy. We got a little bit of a late start. I really wanted Brent to see Balboa Island. So we took the water ferry with the car over to the island. So out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to kids to have fun. We parked on the other side and I really didn't know how far the cute little shops were at so we walked 3/4 mile to the shops and 3/4 back--sorry kids. But we really could use the excercise. Then the ferry back was crowded, so we drove back over the bridge and went to beach with Brent's family and we met up with some old friends the Wakehams (why didn't we take a pic?). After the beach we had family pictures at another beach, so rushed back to hotel to shower and change. Well we would of been on time, if not early and I realized Kate had a bright pink shirt on and everyone else was wearing white. Great!!! Luckily we passed Fashion Island mall (which I had been to before or would have had no idea it was there) and ran into Macy's for a white shirt. So after pictures, we went to the beach house for Nate's Birthday Party. And by the way it was our Anniversary that day too. Happy 12th Anniversary Brent! Whoa the day was finally over.

The next day was my niece's first birthday party. My sister in law Insun is Korean--it was so fun to see the traditions they do for thier first birthday. The kids had a great time just getting to run wild in the back yard. It was a great party. All 17 of us went to Disneyland together the next day. It was very hot, and had we known how cold it was at home we probably would not have complained. But we had a great time together. Brent had to fly home for work, so he had to leave the park earlier then the rest of us. I was bummed because we were having so much fun together as a family. Luke went on space mountain with my sister in law Jill. I couldn't believe he was that brave. Poor Austin was so tired--so he could not cope with the idea the park was closing and we were still in the park. He was so worried that we were going to be locked in. I don't know where that fear has come from, because it is not the first time that has happened. I am sure it is something that I did when he was younger. Anyway, we got up the next morning and Sue and I drove to St. George and left the next morning for home.

It has been hard getting back into the swing of things. But the memories we have will last a lifetime. I am so thankful we were able to spend the time together as a family.

the rest of spring break

our spring break weather was really crummy. We had that one great day on monday and the rest of the week was yuck. I fear we will have no spring. it will be winter one day and summer the next. oh well. we did make it to the children's museum. I am afraid Austin is maybe getting a little to old for the museum--it seemed that way anyway. my parents kept Zach which helped a ton and we enjoyed the time together.
