I'm back from Edward land!

So as my husband has said, "I was kidnapped by a man named Edward, but now I am back" I knew there was a good reason for staying away from those books. I could not put them down. I think I read all 4 books in 3 weeks. I was obsessed. I am sad they are over (but let's be honest I could read them all over again right now and not be bored) but my family and home have suffered long enough. The kids have been going crazy and my house had paid the price. Ok I should not admit this, but I didn't make dinner last night because I had 3 chapters left in the last book and I was dying, I had to finish it. So my lovely friend Kym fed my kids (and husband later on)dinner while I went to back to school night. (of course after I finished the book) Nice I have friends that support and ok the addiction those books have. So I am back and hopefully I will get back into the real world.

Party Party

Kate was so spoiled for her birthday. I have the best family and friends around! And they all have great taste too! It was a fun laid back party--which is what I wanted. But it was hotter then h***. Next year a pool party!! I really enjoy doing parties--well, planning them any way and then I get burned out by the time the party comes around and think why do I go to so much trouble. but sometimes my brain does not stop. Anyway. She was so excited and I think the kids had fun running around, having ice cream and blowing bubbles. Thanks to everyone who came--I always appreciate your support! (photog by my lovely sis in law amy--the good pics anyway)

I've been busy

I have been busy doing little projects here and there. Maybe that's why my house feels like a mess.

This is the shirt I made for Kate's birthday party. she is having an ice cream party--like you couldn't tell. She already had the tank top and the rest is just scraps of fabric I already had!

I am having so much fun with my embroidery machine. Yes I wish I had the bigger hoop, but since it is just a hobby for me right now I couldn't justify paying that much for a machine. So my friends daughter is getting baptized on Saturday so I monogrammed a towel for her to use after she is baptized. It wasn't perfect, but I am really still learning how to use the machine. It was fun though.

Speaking of embroidery. I have had three pillows like this on my couch. They were made from curtains I had in my old house. I had left the center one undone so I could have a big scrolly C embroidered on to it. I knew that it will probably never happen, so I finally did something with my own machine. Well here again is where I run into problems having a small hoop again. Big pillow, small word, so I improvise and put the ric rac around it so that it does not look as bad. I chose the word Nest to remind me to make a home for my family no matter where we are.

Happy Birthday Princess!

Today is Kate's 4th birthday. She is a funny girl. All girl. She can really test my patience, but then she can really make me laugh. I am so thankful that I was able to sneak that girl in between the boys. She asked me once "what if I don't have a sister?" I said that we can be best buddies and do girl things together. I hope we will be close like I am with my mom.

She has already received a present this morning from her aunt Jill. Head band and lip gloss. Aunt Jill knows how to make a girl happy!! After she opened it Kate said "Oh I know who else I can invite to my party---Santa Claus" We have a fun party planned for tonight so we will post those pics later!!

Happy Birthday Princess!!

love the curtains

I always ask myself why I take the kids out to lunch any where other then McDonalds. I am sick of McD's, and I can't imagine that it is that healthy. So that is why I take them other places. We went to lunch with my mom. We tried a new Mexican place El Chiuaua. It was OK. We played (felt like it anyway) musical chairs the whole time. I titled this "love the curtains" because Kate just loved the curtains and kept rolling up in them. Ok probably not the cleanest thing to do.

Are you ready for some football????

Austin had his first football practice on monday. We gave him the choice to either play soccer again or try football. He chose football. Part of me still thinks of him as that baby I cried for, for two years. I think oh he will be so hot, I don't want him to get hurt. But I don't think any one was crying that I might be hot or hurt when I did extracurricular activities. It's good for him and it will make him a stronger person. He is really enjoying it--loves to tackle!! Brent is one of the assistant couches and may be loving it more then Austin!! Brent comes home with a smile on his face everyday so far!!!!!! It will be fun to see that first game!

Mama Mia!!!!!

Ok--I am going away from my normal postings but I just had to. Can I say--Mama Mama Mia!! I loved loved loved this movie! The music, the scenary, (ok and some of the men). I don't know if it was a certain mood I was in or what, but I totally loved it. Can you tell? Maybe I had no expectations for it so that's why I liked it. I think Brent would maybe like the stage version (which we have not seen), but maybe not the movie so much.

So the other thing that is not normal for my postings is that I need some feedback on a name for my bib business. I really want to start selling my bibs (and maybe do other things as well) for some extra "my" money. So I don't feel guilty for buying something when that $ could go towards something of necessity. So I have a couple of names--"The Pom-Pom Princess"--I love pom pom fringe and I put it on most of my bibs. I have some "marketing ideas" in head for this one. The other one I love is "The Paperbag Princess"--It is a children's book that I like--I like the sound of it and I have thought Kate makes everything look cute! I have thought of "marketing" ideas for this one as well. (I use marketing ideas loosely) So my inspiration behind making bibs was Kate--having a girl really made me excited about sewing and embellishing things. So if you could leave a comment and let me know if you like either one of these or if you have an idea for a name that would be great!! I am ready to set my Etsy.com shop up, but need a clever fun name!!!
