memorial day fishing

I really love the area we live in.  Just down the street the city opened a little pond that kids can fish in and also an area roped off for splashing in the water.  It is really so close we could technically ride our bikes to it.  So memorial day weekend we decided to take the kids over with grandma and grandpa to try a little fishing and splashing.

Austin had the only catch of the day.  He had moved to the other side from us and caught a fish.  It was so funny because he comes running over with the fish dangling on the end of the pole and says "hurry get it off so I don't have to eat it!"  He knows that the rule from me is if you kill an animal you eat it!  Ha Ha!  He was not interested in eating that fish.  Luckily for him the fish was fine and swam away!

Zach and Kate were just interested in playing in the sand and water.

first piano recital

Luke started piano just a couple of months ago and just had his first recital.  I was so proud of him.  I thought he would get really shy and not do it.  But he did awesome.  He had all three songs memorized and even did a little duet with his teacher.  He did heart and soul with her--it was really cute.  He is doing extremely well at piano and even wants to continue during the summer.  Way to go Luke!

tot soccer

Oh boy Zach is one funny kid!  When he started walking he has been able to kick a soccer ball.  I remember someone saying "oh isn't that cute when they kick the ball on accident"  And in actuality he was doing it on purpose.  He could go forever just kicking it.  Well finally we are big enough to be on a team.  He played Tot Soccer.  They had only 4 games--which is perfect for his age.

He would wake up every day saying "do I have a game today?" or "who are we fighting in this game?".  He just wants to be like his older brothers.  Zach made two goals this year.  One in the wrong goal and on the last game he made it in his goal.
other way zach!!
love the tongue sticking out
It was so funny because once he got going with the ball in a certain direction, there was no turning around.  He would try so hard to get back around the ball, but I think he was afraid that someone would get it before he could get around it.  So cute and funny!

hope of america

Austin's 5th grade had a wonderful singing program called "Hope of America".  Very patriotic.  It brought tears to my eyes (what doesn't) because of the patriotism and because he is getting so big and is such a good boy! Way to go Austin

bear hollow gradutation 2011

I can't believe my baby has finished his first year of preschool.  I was worried he would be shy during the performance because sometimes he starts getting self conscience when people are watching him.  But he did great!  He got the best cleaner award.  Miss Molly said he was one that was always quick to help clean up!  Way to go Zach.

easter 2011

Easter this year was a little better then last.  I think it was snowing last year!  We did all the fun things we love to do.  And finished it off with our annual easter dinner and egg hunt at my parents.

two front teeth

So the whole time while in DC we thought Kate's two front teeth were going to come out.  They were both loose, and one of them was barely hanging on.  But as baby teeth like to do--they hung on for the whole trip.  Well during spring break (the week after we got back) the kids were playing basketball and Luke bumped into Kate knocking out the very loose tooth and making the other barely hanging on.  So the other needed to come out.  So she lost both teeth in one night.  I think the tooth fairy went bankrupt on that night.
