Finally

Before

Ok--after two moms at Kate's field trip say to me "Oh she is so cute" (and they were not talking about Kate) I decided it was time to cut Zach's hair. Why did we wait so long??? Oh he would scream any time some one would touch his head, and honestly I did love the curls. None of our other kids have any sort of curl, so it was fun to have something different. Since my SIL lives farther away and it is hard to coordinate kids schedules I took him to a cute place called "Cookie Cutters" They were really cute with him. He chose to sit on the motorcycle (of course) and he picked "Cars" the movie to watch. And of course as soon as the tears started he got a sucker. I think he looks so grown up and cute with the new cut. He loves to say to everyone he sees "haircut".

Easter 2009

We had another successful easter! Since chaos is usually created with easter baskets, the bunny came while we were at church. He left a trail of eggs to their baskets.

We then had our traditional easter dinner and egg hunt at my parents house. They have the best yard for egg hunts. We all had a great time. Of course we missed my brothers and SIL (and cousins), but there will be many years of egg hunting to be had!

Thanks grandma and grandpa for a fun easter hunt!

Kangaroo Zoo

Nana and Papa took all the grandkids to kangaroo zoo for an easter treat! Zach was not sure about the jumping games, but as soon as he found the game with a ball and bat he was happy. The rest of my kids had no fear and loved anything that was tall and fast sliding!

Since it was the saturday before easter, the easter bunny made an appearance! It was so funny. Kate started screaming "its the easter bunny" then some older kid says to her--it's not real. Well Brent got after him saying "don't say that to her" the boy says "why not--I already know that he is not real" --Brent proceeds to tell him "well she is only 4 and doesn't know that" Kids grow up to fast as it is--I am glad he stood up for his little girl!

"dye"ing for traditon

We love dying eggs! we really don't get all out creative with them (maybe when they are older), but they love to see the color that comes out. I am glad I finally have kids that love to eat the finished product now--it used to be up to me and Brent to finish them off!

I feel (once again) like I haven't posted in forever, but maybe because nothing that exciting is happening. But since this is my journal I feel like a should write about things that are happening. (that makes no sense does it?) Well any way Luke had a darling singing program at school about a week ago. He did so good. He gets really shy sometimes so I know that was a little out of his comfort zone. Then this week we found out he has Post Strep Arthritis. He had complained the day of the singing program that his knee was hurting him. So I kind of brushed him off and thought he just hurt it at school. So he would say something about it every once in a while so finally this past Monday I took him to the doctor and he had us do blood tests and an x-ray(yikes how much is this going to cost me out of pocket). So the tests came back and apparently he had had a strep infection, but no symptoms and then it spread to his blood and started attacking his knee joint. So then he had an EKG done to make sure it hadn't affected his heart. Everything was great there. So the poor thing will have to have a penicillin shot once a month for a year to make sure it kills everything off. If it ever went to his heart he would have to be treated until he was 20 and he would still suffer affects from this the rest of his life. I feel confident that it won't bother his heart--so I am glad we caught this when we did. It has been crazy, but he has been so brave through the whole thing!

spring fever

kate gets to bring home little bear from preschool every few weeks. so a couple of weeks ago we took little bear, zach and grandma to the museum of art at BYU. they have a really neat exhibit from the author of the I Spy books (and of course it is free!!. the weather was absolutely perfect. I have had spring fever ever since--the snow is killing me. I just can't take it any more--I need sunshine and warm weather so we can hang out outside!!

Austin's project

Here is the puppet we did for Austin's biography project at school. (I have to use my embroidery machine whenever possible!)
