I feel (once again) like I haven't posted in forever, but maybe because nothing that exciting is happening. But since this is my journal I feel like a should write about things that are happening. (that makes no sense does it?) Well any way Luke had a darling singing program at school about a week ago. He did so good. He gets really shy sometimes so I know that was a little out of his comfort zone. Then this week we found out he has Post Strep Arthritis. He had complained the day of the singing program that his knee was hurting him. So I kind of brushed him off and thought he just hurt it at school. So he would say something about it every once in a while so finally this past Monday I took him to the doctor and he had us do blood tests and an x-ray(yikes how much is this going to cost me out of pocket). So the tests came back and apparently he had had a strep infection, but no symptoms and then it spread to his blood and started attacking his knee joint. So then he had an EKG done to make sure it hadn't affected his heart. Everything was great there. So the poor thing will have to have a penicillin shot once a month for a year to make sure it kills everything off. If it ever went to his heart he would have to be treated until he was 20 and he would still suffer affects from this the rest of his life. I feel confident that it won't bother his heart--so I am glad we caught this when we did. It has been crazy, but he has been so brave through the whole thing!

that is seriously the cutest picture of Luke! I am glad the tests all came back with good news! It's too scary being the mom and having to make decisions. Are they really sick, do we really need to go to the dr. Good job!

That sounds like what happened to Arik when he was 4. He wouldn't walk for a week. They gave him huge doses of Antibiotics that eventually worked. He now just gets sore joints when he is sick; that is how we always know, because his legs hurt. Hang in there!
