Halloween 2009

October came and went before I knew it. I think because we went somewhere for fall break that made the month disappear. We had our 2nd annual family Halloween party. It makes it fun for everyone to see each others costumes and one central place for the grandparents to get their Halloween fill.

It was really nice to have Halloween on a Saturday--I felt a lot less rushed getting everyone ready. Austin left early to go with a group of friends. It made me feel a little sad thinking he is so big--but it made me feel better when he said that "he had fun with his friends, but next year he just wants to go with his family". Brent took the other 3 with their friends and Dad, and then we all met up for Dinner and hanging out. It was a fun Halloween!

Pine Wood Derby

This was our first Pine Wood Derby experience. It was really cute to see how much Brent got into this. His competitive side came out. Like most projects--Brent did most of the work, while Austin would come in and check on it! Our ward is huge--there were 45 cars--yes that would mean there are 45 cub scouts. So Austin came in 12th out of 45 cars. Way to Austin (Brent)!!!

Flag Football

Flag football was a different experience then tackle. I am glad we had Luke play flag this year. It was just a slower pace for him, which I liked. He had a great time and loved playing with his best friend JR (his twin friend). At the last game they got trophies and the coaches said something about each player. They said that Luke was the most versatile player on the team! Way to go Luke!!!

LP 2009

Austin played tackle football again this year. They made it to the Semi finals and lost. They had a great season--only losing one game. I was sad for him, I think he was disappointed to get so close again to the final game. Way to go Austin and Daddy (for coaching)--You guys did your best!!

Fall Break

Fall break was a great break!!! We were able to go to San Diego with a couple of our friends. We had such a great time. The kids did awesome driving there and back. We stayed in Encinatas which was about 15 minutes North of San Diego. Practically the second we reached our hotel we took off for the beach. We didn't want to waste any time.

The next day we went to Disneyland. We were really crazy to do it, but I am glad we did. I figured we had driven this far we might as well go. It was hot and crowded, but the kids never complained. Zach was a pill, but he had come down with a cold the night before, so that did not help. I think each time I go to Disneyland I learn when NOT to go! Ha Ha! Nate and Insun met us there with the girls and Zach and Kate had a ball going on the "little kid" rides with cousins.

The next day we spent the morning at the beach and then went to the BYU vs San Diego game. We all had a great time at the game, well maybe not Zach. We learned not to ever take a 2 year old again to a football game!
We spent one more day at the beach and Insun and Nate met us there for one more day of cousins--unfortunatly we shared our cold with the cousins too--sorry!

We had such a great time!!!! All the kids got along so well and travelled with no complaints. We hope to do it again soon!! Thanks everyone for making it such a great vacation!!

Milestone

Luke hit a big milestone in his life. He lost his two front teeth. He lost them at the exact same time. For weeks we have been wiggling those teeth and he would get so worked up if Brent would tug at them at all. So one Sunday, Luke had his church belt in his mouth (who knows why?)and Austin yanked it really hard (who knows why he did?). Well out came flying two front teeth! He was so excited!!

Witches

Ocotber for us is definatly not complete if we don't take a visit to see the witches at Gardner Village. Zach has had this thing about witches lately, so I was not sure if he would like it. Every night (after he saw one at Target) he asks me if there is a witch between his crib and the wall. He was fine and loved to search for them all with the bigger kids.
