My baby brother just graduated from Dental school in Portland! They are off (with their 4 kids) to Louisville for Orthodontics. Congratulations Dave (and Bri). We love you!!

Hello Summer!
wow it's offically here, summer time. I can't believe it is here and I know it will go fast! We started summer off with a bang. My fun friends--Amy, Kristin, and Kym got together in Kym's back yard and had an afternoon of water fun for the kids. We had pizza for the kids and of course for the mom's we had cafe rio salads--yum! The kids had a great time--my kids were not ready to leave, so Zach just had his nap on my lap. It was a fun fun afternoon. Thanks girls for putting that together!

home improvement

Well over memorial day weekend, we about "killed" both of our dads. First my dad came to lay sod with Brent in the front yard. For some reason we started laying it before people came to help. (Don't ask me why) Anyway I think it really took its toll on my dad. Then a couple of days later Brent started to build a deck with his dad. They had to dig 8 post holes and fill them with concrete. That about did carl in. I kept telling Brent that he needed to check on both dad's to make sure they were still alive. I think we forget that they are older then they are--no offense--I still think I am 18, so why would they be any older?



We are not done yet with the deck, but it is coming along. Can't wait for the first party on the deck--should be fun--hope it holds :) just kidding!

wow it's over!?!

I can't believe Kate is done with preschool. She doesn't act young-ha ha-but when I think of her in my mind she seems like she should be way younger. She has loved preschool and has really taken off with reading and learning.

She sang so well at her program and believe it or not, but she got the best talker award. I know shocker!!

I took this picture because this will be the last time Kate will get to sit by Brielle at school. Kate loves Brielle and all though they can be silly (mischevious) together they just have the best time together and just support each other. Hopefully one day we will get to live by her family again and they will be able to go to school together.

Kate loves Miss Molly and I know she will miss her and the safty and comfort that she has had at Bear Hollow. I am such a dummy (and it's not like she is my last) but I just cried at her end of year review. She has really matured (in a good way too) and Miss Molly has broken through some of those struggles we have had with her. Thanks Miss Molly with all your work with Kate. Way to Go Kate. We love you!

pre school at the zoo

Since Zach is still one of my appendages, I wasn't able to do a whole lot with Kate this year at preschool. So since the zoo was her last preschool field trip I really felt like I needed to support her. We rode up with our best friends Heather and Brielle. Heather was a great friend and took Zach on the Merry Go Round, since those things make me ill. We had a great time and she just loved showing her little brother all of the animals (and the ropes of a preschool field trip).

daddy daughter date

Brent and Kate went on their first "daddy-daughter date" They had a great time. Kate felt so special. They went and saw the Hannah Montana Movie--Brent admits it was cute show. They love to sing the songs together from the movie! Thanks daddy for a great time!

dutch days

Thanksgiving Point had "Dutch Days" one saturday during their tulip festival. It is fun to celebrate my mothers heritage. She is Dutch and came to America when she was 4. I love to try to pass on little things to my kids about Holland and having dutch heritage.

It was a freezing rainy snowy day, but we made the most of it and the tulips were beautiful.
